Venice

Venice:

Water water everywhere. We arrived in Venice on Monday to fog and drizzle and it has been the same ever since. The lovely hotel has internet but is restricted to sites that do not require a log in and password, alas not much blogging going on. The city of Venice floods about 100 times per year and we think today might be one of those special days. If it does they have already set in place a walking bridge of sorts that all tourists will have to  use to keep themselves dry. If it does happen I promise we will have photo documentation of the event. In the mean time we have enjoyed the beauty of this city as well as the food and even a little shopping. Tomorrow we will go to the islands Murano and Burano. The first is famous for the production of glass and the other for lace. It should be really interesting to watch the artists make something special out of molten hot glass.
